I had been hunting around for a good winter boot and I feel like I finally found it. Lightweight, warm, and comfortable, I am able to wear it all day without feeling too hot or like I have a sack of cement for feet. The ankles are tall enough to keep a lot of snow and muck out, and I can tuck in my pants when I need to. I haven't really put them through the wringer yet, as I got these at the end of the season, but a couple of super sloppy New York commutes haven't dampened my enthusiasm (pardon the pun). My only complaint is that the ankles are hard to cinch down tight. I guess my big feet and lean legs aren't the body size they were going for in the design, or maybe it is just to give enough room for tucking in pants. Either way, when I pull on the laces the edges of the boot meet over the tongue. If my legs were any skinnier, I couldn't wear them (a problem I actually did have with some Dr. Martens boots).
